Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a system of healing that has been used in China for thousands of years.

It involves the insertion of very fine needles into the body in order to balance the clients' energy and vitality.

This energy is known as 'Qi' and flows through channels or meridians, throughout the body.

Acupuncture helps to stimulate the flow of Qi through the meridians to help to restore balance and harmony - an imbalance in energy can be the result of many different causes - including emotions, lifestyle, diet, hereditary factors and many more.

It is an holistic form of treatment as it works on the mind, body and spirit, treating the whole of the person at the same time.

It is considered a very effective form of preventative medicine too.

The treatment involves a process of re-establishing the energy balance within the body. The first treatment includes an in-depth talk about you and your health and medical history - both family and personal.

This first session will usually last between 60 and 90 minutes, with any subsequent visits lasting between 45 and 60 minutes.

Cupping
Cupping, this was first used by the ancient Egyptians, and was popular for curing all ailments. Dry Cupping has been used since the 19th Century and was used by Mothers to help with the postnatal period in gaining the stomach muscles back. In the 1920's breast pumps were developed using the principles of Cupping to help small or engorged breasts. Cupping declined in the early 20th century, but continued to be used by practitioners of Chinese Medicine. It has seen a resurge in popularity recently. Dry Cupping has an effect on the whole body, Cupping therapy is suitable for treatment of all pains, Bi-Syndromes (Arthritic problems) diseases of the digestive system, circulatory and respiratory system, some skin conditions, wakens some muscles, high blood pressure and common cold.

Moxibustion
This application includes the use of mild heat from the Moxa Wood - finely chopped herb Folium Artemesia.

TDP lamp
TDP lamp (also know as the "Bio-Lamp") is widely used in clinics and in hospitals. The device emits a special band of thermo-electromagnetic waves through a special black magnetic emission plate consisting of 33 different mineral elements. The unique formulation of infra-red rays and mineral formation penetrated into the human body promoting metabolism, regulating physiological deficiencies, diminishing inflammation and easing pain. It has proven to be very effective in numerous ailments.
