What is Cosmetic Acupuncture?
Cosmetic Acupuncture is a centuries old process, dating back to the early Western Zhou period of 1121-770 BC where treatments were developed to treat a variety of skin conditions and to combat the ageing process. It evolved alongside the traditional Chinese acupuncture.
Cosmetic Acupuncturists believe our face and skin are a reflection of our inner health. A combination of full body and facial acupuncture can be used to rebalance the body’s energies, resulting in better sleep, less stress and better skin.
This treatment is a safe and natural alternative to surgical facelifts or cosmetic procedures; it is a non-surgical alternative whereby very fine needles are placed into specific points on the face and body.
It is thought that inserting needles stimulates the growth of collagen proteins that keeps the skin plump and supple, smoothing out lines and wrinkles.
- Muscle tone – Reduce fine lines and some deeper lines.
- Puffiness around the eyes – Reduce signs of stress on the face.
- Blood circulation to local areas in the face – Improve general health and vitality.
A course of treatments is generally recommended ranging from six treatments up to twelve treatments to achieve the desired affect. Each treatment will take between 60 – 90 minutes. Results may be seen following the 4th to 5th treatment.
Combine this with full body acupuncture treatment for a flawless, stress free feeling like all treatments the outcome cannot be predicted, or how long the effects will last, factors such as age and lifestyle will have a great effect on achieving and maintaining the results.
